Hello 2011

Hi ladies!

I have not blogged in ages and that truly upsets me. I created this blog because I wanted to learn and talk about life and I've definitely neglected it from the get go. I'm a sporadic person and that clearly has reflected on my blog. So here's a new go at it. I can't promise a big change but I want to post and do this and that's a starting point.

2010 was a pretty hectic year for me and there were a lot of ups and downs.

- My mother and step-dad divorced and she moved in with me and my grandpa which is craziness at times but it's nice. We've definitely become closer and I'm really glad I can say that. I also see my brother and sisters a lot more now which is amazing.

- My boyfriend's mother passed away right before Christmas. She was very ill with cancer and it's such a loss. She was a beautiful person and I'm so lucky to have been able to know her.

- I finished up at the community college I was at and am now looking for a place to get my BFA at. I so badly just want to be done with school.

- I realized I need to start going out & having fun.

- My best friend in the entire world got married!

The year was a long one and I'm really ready to embrace a new me for 2011 and follow my resolutions for once.

2011 Resolutions:::

1) Get healthy!

I'm determined to lose weight this year. I'm not comfortable with myself and the only person that can change this is me. It's going to take time and some real lifestyle changes but I think for once I'm ready. I no longer want my weight holding me back or hurting me.

2) Save money

I am a terrible spender. I need to learn some responsibility when it comes to money and the real world and this year is the year it's going to happen. I'm not saying I won't splurge here and there but I need to get some funds saved up for sure.

3) Be more social

I have lovely friends that I adore but I have a terrible habit of not wanting to go out. Don't get me wrong, I love going out and having fun but most of the time I'd rather do things alone and/or sit in with Zach -- which is not a bad thing by any means but it seems I don't have a healthy balance of the two. I miss being the social butterfly I once was! This is not to say that I don't ever go out, I go out quite a bit but it's not on the same level that I once did. I also know that this makes my friends feel neglected by me and I don't want them feeling that way! I just need to divide up my time more wisely.

4) Blog more

I love reading blogs but I haven't felt like writing personally and I want to. I'm a very "out there" kind of person with a lot of interests and I want to be able to share my ideas and random happenings more often.

5) Be nicer

I'd like to think I'm a good person and I've always bent over backwards for the people in my life but sometimes I get a bit snarky. I tend to speak before thinking quite often and it doesn't always show my best side. I will ALWAYS think that honesty is the best policy but there's definitely some things that I should generally keep to myself.

And that's my list so far. I really want to make changes this year and I hope I do! This year is about being more peaceful and happy and making my life balanced.

Coastal Scents

So I'm a Youtuber lover and every guru has the Coastal Scents Palettes. I've never really looked at them but tonight I was bored and decided to give a look at the site. F21 Haul

So I went shopping on Friday (October 1) and only had 45 minutes so I ran to Forever 21! I tried on a few tops that were a bit blah and ended up wandering over to the jewelery and found GREAT pieces. Let me just say, I adore F21 jewelery! It lasts quite a long time for such a cheap price.

I got two necklaces that I plan on wearing together (the individual picture of the first one shows it a bit darker than it really is, it's like a champagney pink) and a ring.

This first necklace was $5 dollars and change. I want to say $5.80

This was $7 and change. Once again, I believe it was $7.80

This ring was $3.80 and it's AMAZING. I love chunky rings and I've been looking for one with just a black face. It's stretchy too which is SUCH a plus because then I can wear it on either my middle finger or ring finger!

Hey all!

So I'm not sure how many of you have heard of luuux but if you haven't, you can check it out here.

I think it's a great idea and I hope it doesn't become old before I get my points high enough for a prize! NYX Palettes

So recently I've been on an eyeshadow buying frenzy.

Two of my recent purchases are these NYX palettes.

I was on a hunt for some of their cream blushes and thought, duh, Harmony carries their products. So instead of buying a blush (I recently got one off of CherryCulture.com) I grabbed these two. They're both filled with very soft and blendable colors. I'll try to do swatches soon but for now here are the palettes and pictures of the colors.

The Musical Episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer is on!!! Awesome-ness.

So as I've said a gajillion times already (ha), I am an avid reader.

The past few weeks I've read a crazy amount of books (I need to start going to the library & save myself some money)! Anyhow, I thought I would share a few good reads with you all. I want to spread this out a bit more this way it's not crazy long.

The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han

This book has a sequel out right now and a third book coming out a bit later in 2011. I've read the second one as well and I thorougly enjoy this series. I tend to enjoy younger material more for whatever reason but yeah. This book is basically about friendships that begin to change and it develops into a love triangle that not everyone knows exists. Belly, the main character, every summer goes to Cousins Beach with her mother & brother and her mom's best friend who has two sons. The older one, Belly has always been in love with and the younger one who has always been her best friend. Things change this summer though because Belly has grown into herself and is gorgeous. It's definitely a great book and a lot deeper than I thought it was going to be.

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

This is the third and final book of the Hunger Games Series (Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and finally Mockingjay). This is probably in my top three favorite series. I really don't want to give a small sample of this book because you need to start with the Hunger Games but believe me you'll be glued to these books!

I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You by Ally Carter

This is one of those books that I thought was going to be too young and kind of immature but I find the series wonderful and am so excited for the 5th book to come out in 2012 (boo). There are 4 books out right now and they're uber cheap so that's a def. perk! This book is about a girl named Cammi who goes to a school that is supposedly for rich girls but in all actuality is a school for female spies. She has two very different best friends, a mother who's an ex-spy and the headmistress, and a whole lot of drama lying ahead of her (including a crush who doesn't know she's a spy). It makes me think of Nancy Drew sort of but better. It's just so cool truthfully (I mean spy classes, hello)!

Deception: A Haunting Emma Novel

This book for me, started off a bit eh but I ended up liking it. I love mystery books and that's exactly what you get when you read this. Emma's parents tell her they have to go somewhere and they end up disappearing. Weird things begin to happen but Emma tries to put it out of her mind. She becomes one of the in-crowd, throws a party, is betrayed by one of her new friends, and find herself in the hands of her new guardian Bennett Stern (who is her brother's ex best friend and the boy she's been in love with forever). Emma starts getting major deja vu and finally gets some answers for all the weird things that have happened to her since she was young.
