Shatter Polish

I have pretty much stalked Ulta by phone trying to find out if they had the Katy Perry Shatter Polish or not. The answer was "yes, but we're sold out, try back Monday because we're getting a new shipment in then". So I called back today and they got their shipment in YESTERDAY and SOLD OUT again. UGHHHHHHHHHHH. So pissed for reals. So today after that disappointing phone call, I remembered a local beauty store that I've seen O.P.I. collections in, called them, and they had it! So I rushed on over before they closed and snatched one up :) I'm actually thinking of grabbing another one because although I don't normally go through whole nail polishes often, this is one I know I'm going to use a lot. It's such a great idea! I love that it can either spice up a nail look or tone one down. I love bright nails but sometimes want a bit of darkness too so this is the perfect way to accomplish that. I got this for $8 and change which wasn't too expensive. I'm so glad I bought this. Do any of you have this or want this?

In these photos I have it over Essie's Chinchilly, which is a light gray color.

Mascara lovin'

Last week before my hair appointment I wanted to slab on some easy make-up and while going through my make-up drawers I saw my beloved YSL Faux Cils mascara. Now, sadly this mascara is at the very end of it's tube life and has dried up so terribly that it breaks my little heart! So I used it but then went in with L'OREAL Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara and wound up with this! I did brush it through with a comb though as the YSL was a bit clumpy (sad face).
I love long lush lashes and while these were long, I wanted a bit more thickness. I just bought a Chanel mascara which I'm in love with but I miss my YSL and the thickness it provides. Damn you for drying out so fast. I love how I take pictures and make my nose look huge... sorry little bud! Anyway, I really like the L'OREAL Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara. It does a great job with my lashes, it does flake though which is a pain in the ass but not enough to make me stop using it. For me, it's a more of a daytime mascara because I want a little more "oomph" when I'm going out at night but it still gives me "bigger" lashes for the daytime which I adore.

Accessory of the moment (AOTM)

I totally need to get to bed but I can't seem to fall asleep, so I figured why not update my blog instead, ha!
I showed this ring two posts ago I believe. It's from Forever 21 and was $2.80 and I am IN love with this thing! It kind of reminds of the YSL Arty Ring that I lust over daily but this is hundreds of dollars less. Clearly, the Arty Ring is a total different shape and stuff like that but idk, it still is similar in my mind... maybe in a very far distant cousin kind of way but whatevs.
I've been wearing a lot of black lately (I used to wear black all the time but stopped for a while) and I've been loving wearing big rings with colorful stones to kind of brighten my outfits up. I especially love turquoise and that red color stoned. It's a bit coral esque but that's not the name of the stone... I'll remember it eventually. They're my total favorites though.
These pictures are just showing the ring from a top view and a "side" view to show you the size of the stone.
I would seriously suggest this ring to anyone. There are so many pros to this ring: it's stretchy (so it'll fit different size fingers), it's uber cheap, it doesn't look uber cheap (in my opinion), and it's flashy and fun but also doesn't look too over the top. I had one person ask me where this was from and when I said from Forever 21 and the price they were shocked!

Clearly, it's love!

Truly Madly Deeply Leopard Cross Tee

Some of you may have seen this shirt floating around on blogs lately and if you have, like myself, then you may have fallen in love with it. It's from Urban Outfitters, $38, and comes in one size. I have stared at this top for some time before finally taking the plunge and purchasing it. I called my local Urban Outfitters and they had one left, so clearly I had to grab it!
The one thing I can say about this shirt is that you can get lost in it. It's a big top but I think if you style it right, anyone can rock it. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to pull it off or not and I'm still not positive, but I knew I had to have it and at least try before ruling it in or out. I feel like trying things on in fitting rooms is all fine and dandy for most things but sometimes you have to bring something home and try it out with different clothes to truly see if it will work for you or not. I haven't actually worn this yet but I plan on playing around with it tomorrow and *fingers crossed* I figure out what it works with. A lot of girls I've seen have worn it with tights or leggings but I'm not personally comfortable enough to do that so yeah... those options are out.
Some photos:
*I was at my boyfriend's house when I took these and there wasn't any way to capture it well so yeah... I tried, lol.

It's got some rocker edge to it and I adore that about it. It's not what I usually go for but it's a style that I've been wanting to explore so I'm excited.

Shopping the days away...

The past two days I've been a weird mood and the only thing that seems to make me happy is shopping... which sounds terrible but I get in those weird "I want to be alone and do some major damage" moods every once in a while.
And truthfully, I haven't done TOO much shopping but it's still enough for the past 2 days. I think I'm going to do some online shopping tonight too (my poor bank account) because I'm determined to find the perfect flats for me, a foundation that I love, and some funky tops.
Onto what I bought:
(Sorry for the shoddy shot, I took it with my Ipod before I made my bed)

- Twisted Peppermint Candle from Bath & Body Works - on sale for $10.00 (they have a 50% sale on their holiday candles going on, so pop in!)
- Covergirl eyeshadow in Tapestry Taupe - $3 and change
- A pair of 3 earrings from Forever 21. The bottom pair I'm wearing right now are dangly crosses... I've been wanting a pair of cross earrings for SO long and saw them and although I didn't like the other earrings I bought them - $3.80
- NARS Penny Lane cream blush - $26.00
- Black stone ring from Forever 21 - $4.80
- Turquoise ring from Charming Charlie - $4.00
- Black stone ring from Charming Charlie - $7.97 (I'm returning this one because I like the F21 better)
- Red stone ring from F21 - $3.80
- Turquoise ring from F21 - $2.80 (such a steal!)
- Chanel Inimitable Intense Mascara - $30.00
- Sephora glitter liner - $12.00
So I've spent some dough the past two days but I needed to, hah. I had received a sample of the Chanel mascara and loved it but I'm not too sure if I'm going to keep the full sized one. I think I'm going to finish the sample first and decide. I think I was just so wowed by the sample that I jumped the gun and bought the mascara. It does everything it says it will but the brush is a bit rough for my liking. Plus I sort of miss my YSL Faux Cils. So I'll know in a day or two what I'm going to do.
Shopping kills my soul for sure.

IncrediBooth

My main Christmas present from my momma dukes was an Ipod Touch (the 32gb one) and it's pretty much the only thing I wanted. I ADORE IT. My old Ipod was so beaten up and barely worked anymore so I knew it was time for an upgrade and I knew that the touch was perfect for me because I could also get apps and do a bunch of cool stuff on it. I got the 4th generation one with the camera and one of my most used apps so far is the Incrediboth app. It gives you strips of pictures just like the booths at the movies. So cool. Here's 3 strips from the other night! Me and Zach saw Tron 3d, which was AMAZING. I highly recommend it to all of you... and if you had no interest in seeing it, the main character Sam is SO easy on the eyes so definitely reconsider.

Storage woahs...

I'm the kind of person that is always online watching make-up storage videos or googling ideas and am never able to find a way that suits the space I have or the price I'm willing to pay *ahem, the clear cube thing... so cool, soooo overpriced*. Some girls have vanities that I would die for but my room currently is not large enough for another large piece of furniture in here, so alas, I have my make-up in baskets on a snack table and then the rest of it in a case and my purse.
With the new year, I've been trying to organize my room and just get shizzle pulled together but while I was cleaning, I kept finding myself getting crazy fed up with the baskets overflowing on the table... so, I caved and bought a clear drawer set. Some people love this method but I really, really don't like the look of these drawers for me personally. I don't know why this is but I've never been a big fan. Maybe it's the white plastic... idk. Regardless, they're doing the job for right now. I still have to hunt down the rest of my make-up but I spent some time putting everything from the baskets in there and I'm glad to say it shoud all fit. The one GOOD thing about these drawers is that they are both wide and long so they def fit a lot of crap in them. I think if I maybe decorate it somehow I'll like it better... I'm thinking leopard print, haha!
Once I have everything in them and organized I'll upload a picture of what's inside each drawer, but for now here's a picture of the drawers themselves. I haven't even taken the sticker off of them yet because I was unsure if they would work for me or not. As you can see (on the side and top), I'm still putting things places and figuring out what needs to go where. I also need to figure out some way to put dividers in the drawers themselves. Or I need to buy one more set and seperate products that way. I'll figure it out eventually I suppose.

How do you store your make-up? Any good tips?

Hello 2011

Hi ladies!
I have not blogged in ages and that truly upsets me. I created this blog because I wanted to learn and talk about life and I've definitely neglected it from the get go. I'm a sporadic person and that clearly has reflected on my blog. So here's a new go at it. I can't promise a big change but I want to post and do this and that's a starting point.
2010 was a pretty hectic year for me and there were a lot of ups and downs.
- My mother and step-dad divorced and she moved in with me and my grandpa which is craziness at times but it's nice. We've definitely become closer and I'm really glad I can say that. I also see my brother and sisters a lot more now which is amazing.
- My boyfriend's mother passed away right before Christmas. She was very ill with cancer and it's such a loss. She was a beautiful person and I'm so lucky to have been able to know her.
- I finished up at the community college I was at and am now looking for a place to get my BFA at. I so badly just want to be done with school.
- I realized I need to start going out & having fun.
- My best friend in the entire world got married!
The year was a long one and I'm really ready to embrace a new me for 2011 and follow my resolutions for once.
2011 Resolutions:::
1) Get healthy!
I'm determined to lose weight this year. I'm not comfortable with myself and the only person that can change this is me. It's going to take time and some real lifestyle changes but I think for once I'm ready. I no longer want my weight holding me back or hurting me.
2) Save money
I am a terrible spender. I need to learn some responsibility when it comes to money and the real world and this year is the year it's going to happen. I'm not saying I won't splurge here and there but I need to get some funds saved up for sure.
3) Be more social
I have lovely friends that I adore but I have a terrible habit of not wanting to go out. Don't get me wrong, I love going out and having fun but most of the time I'd rather do things alone and/or sit in with Zach -- which is not a bad thing by any means but it seems I don't have a healthy balance of the two. I miss being the social butterfly I once was! This is not to say that I don't ever go out, I go out quite a bit but it's not on the same level that I once did. I also know that this makes my friends feel neglected by me and I don't want them feeling that way! I just need to divide up my time more wisely.
4) Blog more
I love reading blogs but I haven't felt like writing personally and I want to. I'm a very "out there" kind of person with a lot of interests and I want to be able to share my ideas and random happenings more often.
5) Be nicer
I'd like to think I'm a good person and I've always bent over backwards for the people in my life but sometimes I get a bit snarky. I tend to speak before thinking quite often and it doesn't always show my best side. I will ALWAYS think that honesty is the best policy but there's definitely some things that I should generally keep to myself.
And that's my list so far. I really want to make changes this year and I hope I do! This year is about being more peaceful and happy and making my life balanced.
What are your resolutions?
